Scríobh Poetry Competition

Scríobh Poetry Competition

I have just returned from 2 days in Sligo where I attended the Scríobh Poetry Competition which comprised a workshop for us on the shortlist with Macdara Woods, poet and judge, a lunch for the short-listed poets hosted by the director of the Model Niland Arts Centre, the launch of the chapbook of the three years of the competition shortlist and finally and climactically a poetry reading by Macdara Woods and Tess Gallagher.  See the following link http://www.modelart.ie/scriobh06/index.html#July

I include some pictures in this post of the occasion.  Firstly I could not resist taking a photograph of the wonderful sculpture of W.B.Yeats and a shot of the banks of the Garravogue
